Journaling -Writing
The process of writing and doodling in a journal is a very satisfying process for many of us. I know some of my best moments of clarity have come from writing and doodling. Journals do not have a hard fast rule for what they need to be.
Like collages, they are anything you want them to be. For example: magazine cut outs, pictures you have taken, items you have collected, papers laying around can all be glued into the pages of literally anything you decide to use. Then you can write words, thoughts, poems, doodles, stories, or process what happened like a diary entry...anything. You can paint, draw, scribble or just glue in text from an old book or school work, music sheets, or magazine. You can choose to use black out poetry or found poetry methods to create a poem or thought process with your text from books or magazines. Journals can be your own private collage and writing space combination.
Here are some create resources on both how to create a journal if you want to make your own. Remember, you can use an old journal or notebook. It doesn't have to be fancy, expensive or difficult to make.

Black out poetry and Found poetry:
Whats the difference between found & black out poetry? Nothing really. Black out poetry is part of the category called Found Poetry - where you find a poem or statement in another source. The biggest difference is the process. Found poetry on its own does not have to involve coloring in or covering up the other words. The words can be cut out or simply circled or highlighted. Black out poetry involves covering up all other text except the words you want to stand out. A lot of really creative art processes can come into play here with the covered areas becoming a piece of art if the person doing the process decides to.
